Three art installations are coming up in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Idelle Tyzbir’s Elements will be installed at the Westfield Town Center Mall on September 16.
The opening reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Art Space is located inside next to Sisley Restaurant. The sculpture is about 12-14 feet wide in four parts.
“Elements is my version of the classical western four basic elements: earth, water, fire and air. Three of the shapes are steel and the fourth is a boulder representing earth. The metal shapes are tessellations, (interlocking & repeating shapes), that have been separated and are free standing for this work. Each fits together like a puzzle. These shapes show movement, reminiscent of the movement of wind, fire and water,” Tyzbir said.
“A ‘petroglyph’ of the common symbols for each element is represented on the corresponding piece. My concept expresses the inter-relatedness of the elements by using tessellating forms. Our community’s proximity to the wildlands makes The Elements come to life. With the scorched earth, El Nino & drought, firestorms & Santa Ana winds, we are all affected by the elements.”
Tyzbir and Jeanne Iler will have an art show at the Canyon Theater Guild. There will be 50 paintings on display and the show will run from September 23 – October 30. Tyzbir’s opening reception will be Saturday, October 1, from 5-7 p.m.

Tyzbir will also have a show at the Santa Clarita Artists Association Gallery. The opening reception is Thursday evening, September 22 from 5-10 p.m. The show runs from September 15 – October 8.
