On Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m., the City of Santa Clarita will be hosting a public ribbon cutting event to celebrate the completion of the Golden Valley Road Bridge Widening Project and a dedication ceremony of the Connie Worden-Roberts Memorial Bridge.
The event will be held near the Golden Valley Road Bridge and State Route 14. Parking is available at the adjacent Golden Valley Park and Ride lots near the State Route 14 freeway exit on Golden Valley Road. Signs will be posted to direct attendees to the event site.
The Golden Valley Road Bridge widening over the 14 Freeway at Golden Valley Road will improve traffic flow entering and exiting the 14 Freeway. The project added an additional two lanes of travel, one in each direction, for a total of four through lanes. Improvements also included a dedicated left turn lane for the southbound 14 Freeway, two left turn lanes for the northbound 14 Freeway and a protected path for pedestrians and cyclists on the south side of the bridge.

The Golden Valley Road Bridge is being renamed in honor of Connie Worden-Roberts, a local activist and Santa Clarita community leader known for her vital role in the formation of the City of Santa Clarita in 1987 and often referred to as the “Road Warrior” for her efforts behind the development of the Cross-Valley Connector.
This multi-million dollar project was made possible with funding partner Metro and in conjunction with Caltrans.

Now can you make a two lane signal for the northbound Sierra to Westbound Golden Valley Rd. because somehow the developers who made hundreds of new houses off Golden Valley Road didn’t think we have to go to work to pay for theses houses..
They said by summer, Oct 8 is fall. Finally though because there is too much construction going on in the SCV.
Keep it going!! Need to widen that horrible bridge at the Parker rd off ramp in Castaic before that high school is built Gonna be a big mess.
Congratulations to the construction crew who kept the traffic flowing most all of the time!
