The office of Representative Steve Knight, CA-25, will host an informational seminar on September 17 about the application process for military service academies.
Students considering application for 2017 appointment to one of the five U.S. military service academies — U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, Md.), U.S. Military Academy (West Point, N.Y.), U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, Colo.), U.S. Coast Guard Academy (New London, C.T.), U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, N.Y.) — are encouraged to attend and gather information about the appointment process.
The event will be held Sept. 17, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dianne Van Hook Building in the College of the Canyons University Center at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road.
The event is open to all interested young men and women 17 to 21 years of age who are residents of California’s 25th Congressional District as well as those freshman through junior class high school students preparing for application.
“I’m proud to say that our community produces some of the finest military academy appointees in the country, and we look forward to continuing this legacy with the 2017 Incoming Class of 2021,” said Knight. “Service Academy Information Day will be a great opportunity for young men and women interested in beginning the application process.”
