The Master’s University men’s golf team finished third out of a field of 10 teams with a collective score of 595 (293-302) at the CA Intercollegiate tournament on the greens of the Diamond Valley Golf Club in Hemet.
GSAC opponent Arizona Christian placed first overall at 573 (287-286), while Biola University placed ninth overall at 616 (324-292).
TMU’s Joseph Downey finished the two-day tournament with an impressive score of 143 (67-43), tying him for fifth-place, while teammate Karsetn Briley tied for ninth overall after carding a 145 (72-73).
Joshua Delo earned a 27th-place finish after earning a final score of 152 (75-77), while Robert Penalber tied for 34th at 155 (79-76).
Finally, newcomer Nathan Leigh rounded things out for the Mustangs by tying for 53rd after carding a final score of 165 (83-82).
The Mustangs will return to action on October 24 at the CSU San Marcos Fall Classic. The two-day tournament will take place on the links of the Vista Valley Country Club in Vista.
