The City of Santa Clarita will host a public meeting to discuss the proposed concept plan and location for the future Saugus Library Center on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Rosedell Elementary School, located at 27853 Urbandale Avenue, Saugus. No RSVP is required to attend.
The community meeting on the proposed Saugus Library Center will give residents an opportunity to learn about the proposed plan and proposed site location, and provide feedback.
The Santa Clarita Public Library currently has three library branches located in the communities of Canyon Country, Newhall and Valencia. To determine what should be included in a proposed new library in the Saugus community, City staff conducted a needs assessment focusing on the future Saugus Library service area. The feedback received to date highlighted the need for a multi-use facility that would serve as a library community center and include library, technology, innovation, meeting, recreation, art, event, and learning spaces. More information on the project is available at santaclaritalibrary.com/Saugus-Library-Center.
The City is working to locate, design, construct and program the Saugus Library Center by the year 2020. The Saugus Library Center is part of the City’s Santa Clarita 2020 Community Strategic Plan.
