Lynnae George
Lynnae George, Kayla Peterson, and Jessica Zubia represent The Master’s University on the 2016 Women’s Soccer All-GSAC Team Presented by Under Armour.
In the Lady Mustangs’ 2016 regular-season, George appeared in 18 matches, posted 23 shots and 11 shots on goal, scored a team-leading four goals, and tallied nine points. Notably, George repeats these honors from last year when she was pegged as an all-conference athlete as a freshman.
Kayla Peterson
Peterson, a freshman, makes her debut on the All-GSAC list after appearing in 16 matches where she tallied three assists, three points, two shots, and two shots on goal. Peterson’s presence has played an essential role for the Lady Mustangs as TMU’s defense kept six opponents scoreless in the regular-season.
Jessica Zubia
Finally, Zubia, TMU’s goalkeeper, helped secure the Lady Mustangs’ 8-6-4 regular-season record by tallying 61 saves over the course of 18 matches. 2016 marks the first time the senior netminder has been named to the All-GSAC roster.
On Friday, George, Peterson, and Zubia will lead the fourth-seeded Lady Mustangs 8-6-4 (4-4-2 GSAC) against the fifth-seeded Hope International Royals (9-6-2, 4-5-1 GSAC) in the first round of the 2016 GSAC Soccer Tournament. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. on Reese Field.
