Local teen band KikStart, made up of 17-year old twin sisters Kalia and Keeli Javan, is releasing its first Christmas album in late November.

KiKstart released “Our Savior’s Birth – A KiKstart Christmas Album” late November, and is available from CDBaby.com, iTunes, and other various music sites. In the girls’ tradition of giving, proceeds from the CD sales bought directly from KiKstart will be donated to The Sower SCV.

The band has gone a long way since their very first public performance at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2013 Relay For Life in their hometown, Santa Clarita. As of November 2016, they have had 14 shows throughout L.A. – they even had one in Orange County. In the beginning of 2017, they are scheduled to perform in Las Vegas, and at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go.

They’ve performed twice at The Mint LA, a Los Angeles landmark established in 1937 where artists who have graced its stage includes Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Ray Charles, Earth Wind and Fire, Johnny Depp, Gwen Stafani, Jason Mraz, and Tears For Fears just to name a few. They’ve also performed, as part of Paramount Academy of Music group, at Lucky Strike Live in Hollywood and Highland in a fundraising show with A-listers including Scott Ian (Anthrax), Pearl Aday (Motor Sister), Brendon Small (Metalocalypse), Bob Forrest (Thelonious Monster), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Donovan Leitch (Camp Freddy) on August 23rd. Lucky Strike Live is also where the twins debuted their newest compositions, “Mr. Man” and “Here For You” on October 1st.

Described by Carl Restivo, as “two extremely talented young ladies who can hang with the best of ‘em…”, 17-year old twin sisters Kalia and Keeli Javan is working on more materials for their EP planned to be released first quarter of 2017. The EP will include “Mr. Man,” “Here For You,” and “Heart Might Break Again.” “Heart Might Break Again” was released as a single in 2014, and is being sold on CDBaby.com, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Xbox Live and other sites. It quickly captured the hearts of people everywhere; and in Australia, they were voted by the listeners of Stars of Tomorrow, an FM Radio Program in Sydney, Australia, as “Top 5 Artists of 2014.”
