Back by popular demand, for two days this week, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will be giving away “The Club”, an auto theft prevention device, to all Santa Clarita Valley residents who are the registered owner of either a Honda Accord or Honda Civic (model years 1991-1998) on a first come, first serve basis.
These vehicles are commonly stolen vehicles in our City, and by handing these clubs out, the goal is to lower the vehicle theft rate in our area.
In order to receive a Club, you have to show proof of residency and ownership for one of these vehicles:
Honda Civic or Honda Accord, model years 1991-1998.
You can pick up a free club at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station (while supplies last), Wednesday (01/25) or Thursday (01/26), between the hours of 10 AM – 2 PM.
Residents who received a club at our last promotion in October 2016 are not eligible.
The devices have been provided to the Sheriff’s Department free of charge by the Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP), Los Angeles County’s regional, multi-jurisdictional, multi-agency taskforce that investigates, prosecutes and deters vehicle theft and vehicle fraud on a coordinated and cooperative basis.

WTF? Is this from The Onion? ?
SCVTV Santa Clarita actually they should give them to popular trucks as well. I know someone who’s car was stolen in valencia, crooks stole the truck to rob and was later found weeks in canyon country.
Lia Boscarino they should give these out to trucks too.
Thank you!
You shouldn’t be using tax payer money for these. . . inform these people of the risks and let them buy their OWN Club.
