1962 - SCV residents vote to connect to State Water Project, creating Castaic Lake Water Agency (now part of SCV Water) [story]

Lundgren Management has hit the ground running for 2017, having recently been named construction manager (CM) for three exciting school projects, plus receiving news we’ve received another Construction Management Association of America, Southern California Chapter (CMAA) Project Achievement award for our work.

On Jan. 18, Lundgren was selected to provide CM services for a new project for the William S. Hart Union High School District in Santa Clarita. On Jan. 9, the Santa Barbara Unified School District selected Lundgren as their construction manager for its Peabody Stadium project at Santa Barbara High School, and we were also recently named construction manager for the new Academic Commons Building at Antelope Valley College. In the case of the Santa Barbara USD and Antelope Valley College projects, Lundgren was both named to their respective CM pools for future projects and was awarded CM services for the first projects of the respective bond programs.

“What a way to kick off our 30th anniversary,” said Shawn Fonder, vice president of program and client services. “Lundgren’s built an impeccable reputation as a leader in California school construction, and we’re pleased to deliver great results for each of these clients.”

William S. Hart Union High School District
Lundgren was officially selected as the construction manager for the project that will add a two-story, 23,431-square-foot classroom building to Hart High School in Santa Clarita, in addition to two new tennis courts and campus-wide infrastructure improvements.

The CM Multiple-Prime delivery method will be utilized. Architectural services will be provided by Flewelling & Moody Architecture, and the project is funded by voter-approved Measure SA.

Santa Barbara Unified School District
The district is a new client for us, and we are looking forward to overseeing the much-anticipated renovation of Santa Barbara High School’s 90-year-old Peabody Stadium and replacement of the existing grandstand, funded through two bonds approved by voters last November.

The much-needed renovation project for the school will include:
A new concrete grandstand that includes a classroom, team room, weight room and press box;
A synthetic surface track that meets California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) standards;
A combination football, soccer and lacrosse field with artificial turf.
Directional and shielded stadium lights
New water drainage system
The project was designed by KBZ Architecture, and will be completed utilizing the CM Multiple-Prime delivery method.

Antelope Valley College
Lundgren will oversee the construction of a new Academic Commons Building on the campus of Antelope Valley College, to be delivered by the CM Multiple-Prime delivery method. To be designed by HMC Architects, the building will both centralize and expand academic support services. The facility will be located centrally on the campus, next to the library and SOAR High School.

Preliminary work has begun on the project, with completion planned for October 2020. The work is funded by a $350 million bond approved by voters last fall for improvement projects.

“We’re very proud to be selected to help kick off this bond project,” Fonder said. “There’s something particularly rewarding about working on school projects such as these that help ensure students have the best possible facilities where they can prepare for the future.”

Lundgren Tapped to Receive CMAA Project Achievement Award
We were thrilled to receive the news this month that Lundgren is receiving yet another award from the Southern California chapter of the Construction Management Association of America. Set to be presented at the CMAA’s 25th annual awards gala in April, the Project Achievement award in the Education, Less than $10 Million category is for Lundgren’s work as construction manager for the completion of two new classroom buildings at Old Orchard Elementary School in Santa Clarita’s Newhall School District. The project was completed last fall, with the two new buildings replacing seven outdated portable structures.

While we certainly don’t approach projects with awards in mind, the accolades are much appreciated, and an affirmation of our commitment to delivering the highest quality results for every client. That’s what has defined our work for the past 30 years, and it continues to be our guiding principle.
