Id rather a starbucks over a medical center that just houses file pushers.
Lynda, thank you for recognizing that we have way too many jersey mikes out here. I feel like no one notices that they’re EVERYWHERE
Jersey mikes and Starbucks. Please leave these two out. So sick of coffee places and crap food places.
Either that or pizza
So…..stop whining
Jersey Mike’s employ a special needs adult in all their locations in Santa Clarita.
That happened to Burger King on Bouquet Canyon.
Jersey Mike’s… a large sandwich, chips, and a drink is almost $20. Then the credit card machine asks how much tip you want to give!! Lol
There’s a Jersey Mike’s already. ?
Hahahaha! Best comment!

Great we don’t have a Shakey’s Pizza Applebee’s restaurant an El Torito restaurant and we don’t have a churches Chicken and we don’t have a Sonic burger. We need these restaurants out here SCV..
Chain crap.
If y don’t have nothing nice to say Shut Up!!! Hater…
Isn’t there a Shakey’s on Lyons? And El Torito recently closed too
No shakeys out here. It’s in Sylmar
Is the chuckie cheese on the old road closed???
No it’s still there Ashley..
I wouldn’t mind a Waba Grill in Stevensons Ranch.
Don’t forget-we don’t have Marie Calender either.
Isn’t there on old road and magic mountain pkwy. Across from Wendy’s?
Marie Calendars just closed down recently and we used to have a Shakeys on Bouquet and Seco many, many years ago when I was a kid growing up
I think shakeys closed about 15 years ago. It was always crowded. We it back!!!
We need it back!!! Lol
Hahaha. I’m sorry but the last thing Santa Clarita needs is more corporate or franchised BS restaurants! That’s what I disliked most about the SCV…it’s over ran with generic corporate/franchised places, nothing original. Go anywhere outside of the SCV to try unique, original, and more authentic places! Support small businesses ?
I agree !!!!!! its sad how all the mom and pop places are gone and corporate mentality has taken over.
Yes, Shakeys!!!
Problem is real estate/ rent is too high for small independent business. The economy of scale is why you keep getting corporate/ franchises. I used to work for Zeko’s (miss them), now I live out of state and own two independent coffee shops. SCV was just too expensive.
Couldnt read tbe article stupid congraulations pop up thing kept getting in the way.
went there once a long time ago and that was enough…feel bad for the employees as this is a truly cowardly corporate way of handling the situation . Doesn’t bode well for employees at the remaining locations…
Agree that is a cowardly move by the corporate HQ. Isn’t that also how Elephant Bar corporate ditched its employees?
Kathleen Reynolds
I saw that! Randy works at the one in Simi
Kathleen Reynolds when did he start working at the one in simi?
Probably 6 months ago.
Nick Jacobovitz
Karlee Mariee
Ruth Hammond so sad !! Arianna didn’t get to try the mac and cheese and draw on the table
Yeah so sad. Got an email this morning telling me to visit another location. Sure a different restaurant will be in that location soon.
We will have to go to grandmas
Sounds like a plan
Sarah LeCaine Flittner!!!
Hahahaha oh man!
Last time I was there on a Sunday back in October there was only a few people. This was at 6:00pm..
We went there because it was never busy, guess we know why. Inconsistent food but great service. KFC NO!!!!!!! We lose a lot of good restaurants, wonder why??!!
Hilary Liberman Hannah Haskell :(
We used to love going there years ago. The food and service were always excellent. Went a few minths ago and everything was horrible. Especially the food. . And it was pretty empty for a fri night. I’m always so sad to see places close and feel for everyone affected. But I’m not surprised at all! =(
I agree. Same experiences with us!
Went there for the first time ever to use a gift card from Christmas last year…the restaurant was empty and it smelled like sewer was backing up in the bathroom….to say the least sad to see this restaurant close
Josh Galdi Haha
Bad experience ?
So bad, we went there and they sat us and we sat there for 50minutes before we just walked out. No service at all. Didn’t even acknowledge us. They were too busy flirting with eachother. We walked out and no one said anything. Needless to say we never went back
And we had the kids with us, so it’s not like they couldn’t have noticed a party of four
Yikes
Yea I was very irritated but I was to mad to even talk to a manager so we just left quietly lol
What a company.
Stacy Tamayo Kristyn Gray Megan Walling Maertz surprised?? lol
I’m not surprised. Robert Tamayo

Kenny Ordona
Shea Roldan I was just talking about this babe
WHATTT?? That’s by my MLC
Yes. lol yes it is
We were just there. Holy cow!!!
There was a gradual, but obvious erosion of the food, kitchen and service at this restaurant. After several disappointing events here, including large family gatherings, we stopped going about 2 years ago. The managers were indifferent to our complaints. We had gone there fairly regularly for years, usually about twice a month. They also changed their menu for the worst — there are other Italian food eateries in the SCV, but at one time Macaroni Grill seemed to be one of the best, but that hasn’t been the case for a long time. Hope the employees file a complaint with the State of California Labor Board as they may be due more compensation for the way this was handled.
I used to love going there. Good food. Sorry it closed.
I am sorry to hear this too Lew !
Bummer we were there a week ago, wasn’t crowded, but food was good!
So was I… great lunch specials and kids ate free to Tuesday
This is how I got laid off when I worked at a restaurant. Called us in. I thought I was in trouble and I pulled up and saw them taking down the sign and wheeling out food :,( not a good feeling
Another reason restaurant do this is so employees won’t steal alcohol from them. That’s what my old company told me.
Karissa Petersen sad
JoAnn Eagle ?? ??
Dang. We didn’t go there enough!
wow i liked that place….
Sierra Cunningham
R they closed permantely?
OMG! This was just a cruel way to get rid of employees. No notice in advance so that way they could start looking for another job.
That place was garbage anyway
No notice what a bunch of jerks!!
Good way to treat employees!!Sucks that they weren’t notified so they can look for a new job!! I wish them well
Portos please….
Cooks Prep cooks and servers message me!!!!!
Kendall Myers Claire Myers where are we going to get bread omg
Claire Myers Stephanie Rankin I didn’t believe this at first but omg :( Sisley bread it is
I feel bad for the employees
Anthony Terranova NOOOOOO ?????
Woah ?
Marie Wise-Hawkins omg look!
Celeste Campos
Yeah. Just read about it today. Not that surprised though. Lived out here all these years and only ate there a couple times. Wonder what will replace it.
Sucks!!!
The reason they do this to employees is so they don’t take off & say screw you before it closes & leave ’em hanging. They should give them an incentive to stay rather then pull the rug out from under them. They did the same thing when the Elephant Bar closed. Really sucks the way they handle things.
Wow, that really sucks that employees were treated so poorly. They couldnt even bother to give them a heads up so they could get another job. The same company also owns Chilis. Maybe Chilis is hiring.
thts good the food was not good and the service was bad
Not Surprised
Kimber Maier
Shawnie just told me!!! That’s crazy!!!! ? JJen Sheffer
Juan Reyes
That is what the minimum wage hikes are going to do to a lot of businesses.
No this is what crappy food, poor service and an over abundance of restaurants does to a business.
That’s true, gotta agree. I went once and I was not happy with the food. First and last time I went.
It’ definitely will have an impact.
this used to be a favorite about 5 years ago. Then the service took a nose dive so badly that we had to scratch it off the list… it would take two hours for a business lunch. we would pass it periodically and wonder how it stayed around so long with 3 cars in the parking lot.
Ricky Daniel
Wow. Unreal and totally not ok!
Shelley Kim – the proper way to run a business obvi
Mario Shields haha we just said no one goes there. Dang the bread was so good
Ryan Riley same thing!
Oh no! I loved that place!
Ari Martin Jeri Martin-Siracusa
Bound to happen some day ):
We don’t eat out a lot; this was once a favorite…their Penne Rustica. Sad for those now out of a job. Also loved how a singer would stroll through singing opera-style.
That was our favorite dish years ago too!…then it was terrible. .too salty. They changed the menu. We stopped going. ;(
Robby
Worst dining experience of my life there thanks to a disgusting employee. Came back to haunt them. What corporation isn’t cowardly?
Wow! We just ate there a few weeks ago, was not the same! Tina Boyle!
Told ya …
Melissa Sanchez
Brenda Bales
So sad for the employees!
Wow, that’s terrible that they let the employees know that way. Was there about 3 weeks ago.
Hey Mia Kainoa Kaina Standley. I guess we’ll have to go someplace else for lunch next time with Mike and Ali Kaina.
Wow!
I thought it’s been closed for years… who knew.
Roxana Marta Napoli

A really sad way to behave toward employees. No excuse whatever the underlying!
Cristhian Sanchez can you believe this
Now where will Claritians eat ?
Another one bites the dust! Enjoyed celebrating birthdays, etc. there!?
Ours closed many years ago. Happened same way. No warning at all.
What a way of caring about employees! That was a slap on their faces for their service. The work force has changed dramatically. I hope someone does something about it.
No! I will miss this place.
Justin Aftab Joy Johnston
Heard a rumor a while back that it would close and then reopen as a Bubba Gump Shrimp.
Sarah Wilson
Natalia Jauregui ?
Mina Del Toro, we were just talking about this place today!
Good thing we didn’t choose to have lunch there today.
Haha I know right. I guess I totally forgot it was there.
They’ve gone downhill in the past few years.
I agree. Oh well. Maybe they can turn it into a PF Chang’s. ?
Omg!!! That would be awesome!
I know! Haha
Deborah Wood another one bites the dust
Regardless on how one feels, these employees still have families and bills jyst like everyone else. Thumbs down to owner who didn’t value their employees hence as to why the doors are now closed.
Kelly Rojas
What happened?
Closed in Ventura too. Getting a Stonefire.
Traded up for sure
Cindy Naber
