1934 - Bouquet Canyon Reservoir, replacement for ill-fated St. Francis Dam & reservoir, begins to fill with water [story]
Bouquet Reservoir

Romano’s Macaroni Grill employees received a surprise Tuesday when they showed up for a mandatory meeting to find the restaurant permanently closed.

On Tuesday morning, instead of a team meeting, employees were greeted by moving trucks, a corporate HR representative, and the company’s chief operating officer.

  58. We were just there. Holy cow!!!

  59. Chris T says:

There was a gradual, but obvious erosion of the food, kitchen and service at this restaurant. After several disappointing events here, including large family gatherings, we stopped going about 2 years ago. The managers were indifferent to our complaints. We had gone there fairly regularly for years, usually about twice a month. They also changed their menu for the worst — there are other Italian food eateries in the SCV, but at one time Macaroni Grill seemed to be one of the best, but that hasn’t been the case for a long time. Hope the employees file a complaint with the State of California Labor Board as they may be due more compensation for the way this was handled.

  60. I used to love going there. Good food. Sorry it closed.

    Marie Wise-Hawkins omg look!

  75. Sucks!!!
The reason they do this to employees is so they don’t take off & say screw you before it closes & leave ’em hanging. They should give them an incentive to stay rather then pull the rug out from under them. They did the same thing when the Elephant Bar closed. Really sucks the way they handle things.

  76. Wow, that really sucks that employees were treated so poorly. They couldnt even bother to give them a heads up so they could get another job. The same company also owns Chilis. Maybe Chilis is hiring.

this used to be a favorite about 5 years ago. Then the service took a nose dive so badly that we had to scratch it off the list… it would take two hours for a business lunch. we would pass it periodically and wonder how it stayed around so long with 3 cars in the parking lot.
