It’s what they want. Notice they don’t conduct DUI checkpoints in the Santa Clarita Valley anymore? They should hold the person(s) that stopped having checkpoints accountable for this tragedy.
The city manager’s friend got caught up in the traffic during a checkpoint and complained to Ken. Hence, no more DUI checkpoints.

They need to drop that 55 MPH sign to 45 if not lower… a lot of ppl fly down on McBean also.
There needs to be some form of divider between the opposing lanes. I have seen even sober people not pay attention to the road curve on Copper Hill and McBean.
The knee-jerk reaction is to punish everyone else because one idiot decided to drive drunk. Other than the amount of traffic, Copper Hill is no different than a two way canyon road with the same limit.
Or they can just stop drinking and driving

Grew up here all my life , driven copper hill 1000’s of times . How the hell does a head on collision happen . Maybe deputy Shoemaker should start reading his emails and taken our demands serious about the ridiculous speeds people are traveling at and maybe the city should take a look at what they have turned this town into. More people more problems , how many more restaurants and a ability to drinking and driving will you subject the citizens too. Sirens were unheard of , now it’s a daily occurrence. Someone tell me I’m wrong
