U.S. Rep. Steve Knight, R-Palmdale, released a statement Tuesday calling for a special prosecutor to investigate Russia’s intervention in the U.S. presidential election.
“It is time for an investigation of Russia’s intervention in the U.S. election. There is too much at stake at home and abroad to not take this step,” Knight said.
“There is so much conflicting information from many sources,” Knight’s statement said. “Americans deserve the opportunity to learn the truth.
“As stated before, I continue to support any efforts done by the House Intelligence Committee and join many of my colleagues in supporting the assignment of a special prosecutor to take over the ongoing FBI investigation.”
Knight isn’t the only representative who is speaking out on ties to Russia and the FBI investigation.
U.S. Rep. Justin Amash, R-Mich., tweeted “My staff and I are reviewing legislation to establish an independent commission on Russia.” in response to President Trump’s letter dismissing the FBI director.
U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., also said that “a special prosecutor to investigate Trump’s ties to Russia was “on the table,” according to The Hill.

About Damn Time !
Sticking ones head in the sand isn’t going to help if we go to war over this. This has to be investigated.
Just do it.
On himself?
Trying to make up for your overwhelming support of #45 up until now?? Too little, too late.
Oh yeah right. I’m sure this is fake news.
He’s trying to make amends with constituents unhappy with his vote for Trumpcare. Lol!
Nope. He’s just trying to get there before the Dems do – or before #45 digs the hole any deeper and The People demand it. They might just force it to be an open and wide-ranging investigation.
