A crime sweep by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies Thursday night in parts of Newhall, Canyon Country and Saugus resulted in 12 arrests (1 woman, 11 men, all adults) for charges ranging from drug possession and sales to weapons charges.
One individual was arrested with a large quantity of methamphetamine with the intent to sell. Another suspect wanted for a burglary was arrested.
The operation was designed to address crime issues in specific parts of Santa Clarita. The team of deputies and sergeants contacted numerous members of the community regarding their neighborhood concerns. Business owners were also contacted and had their concerns addressed.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Sergeant Jeffrey Martin said deputies assured the citizens the station was responding to their concerns and will continue to take a proactive approach to fighting crime.
“The citizens were appreciative of the station’s response, and encouraged by the high visibility the team brought to the operation,” Martin said.

Good Job !
Great job! Canyon country needs some cleaning up.
Great job thank you!
Keep up the great work.
But with ab109 and prop 47/57 how long will they be locked up?
They’ll be out on Sunday with extra EBT cards and a thank you letter from Governor Brown and The Democrat Assembly. Keep up the smart voting ?
Nice work! Unfortunately under our current laws (47-57, AB109) most are probably already released and back out committing more crimes.
I just hope the sweep was all done constitutionally correct.
Be safe
William Reel, if that’s your real name, you are part of the problem and you are a big dope
