LANCASTER, Calif. – The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes broke a 2-2 tie with a six-run eighth inning and completed a four-game sweep of the JetHawks, 8-3, on Sunday evening at The Hangar.
Quakes starter Dennis Santana cruised through five shutout innings, but walked Wilson Soriano to open the bottom of the sixth. Two batters later, Yonathan Daza delivered and RBI single. Wes Rogers later picked up an RBI single of his own to tie the game.
Santana (5-4) tossed seven strong innings for Rancho Cucamonga and struck out eight. Two of the punch outs closed his outing, as he stranded two Lancaster base runners in scoring position.
Rancho Cucamonga took the lead with a single run in each of the first two innings. DJ Peters came through with an RBI double in the opening frame. Jared Walker delivered an RBI single in the second.

The Quakes hit three home runs in the decisive eighth inning. Will Smith blasted a solo shot, his second consecutive game with a homer. Garrett Kennedy immediately followed with a solo long ball of his own. Later in the frame, Yusniel Diaz delivered the big blow with a three-run home run.
Collin Ferguson went deep for the JetHawks in the ninth inning, his first home run with Lancaster.
Lancaster starter Craig Schlitter took a no-decision. The right-hander went 5.1 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits. He walked three and struck out three.

The JetHawks open a four-game road trip on Monday night with the first of four against the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino. Right-hander Peter Lambert (5-6) will start for Lancaster. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
