As the temperatures go up this week, a great way to cool off is to head to one of the City of Santa Clarita’s six pools.
While all locations offer swim lessons and other programs, there is only one spot to bring your family if you want to dive into the water and into a popular kids flick.
Summer favorite “Dive In Movies” returns on Saturday, July 8 with “The Secret Life of Pets” at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center and on Saturday July 29, it’s “Finding Dory” at the Santa Clarita Pool. Films start at 7 p.m.
No matter your taste in music, there is sure to be something that appeals to your dancing feet at this summer’s Concerts in the Park, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union.
Some of the highlights include a Queen tribute, Earth, Wind & Fire tribute, Van Halen tribute, Santana tribute, Tom Petty tribute, Sublime tribute, Beatles tribute and a rockin’ country & western show. Concerts kick off at 7 p.m. at Central Park running July 8 – August 26. Check out Santa-Clarita.com/Concerts for the full lineup.
Looking to add some entertainment into your child’s summertime? Look no further than our local community centers. The Newhall Community Center offers a variety of programs for teens and kids. Children can enjoy exciting and creative activities and games, while teens take part in weekly themed projects that include art, games and even field trips (additional cost). For more information, check out Santa-Clarita.com/NCC.
There is more summer fun to be had at the Canyon Country Community Center. Kids can dance, explore fabulous physics, build in Lego Camp, get active with dodgeball games and even work some magic at Wizard Camp. For more information, please visit Santa-Clarita.com/CCCC.
I hope you enjoy all our City has to offer during the summer months. Remember you can always stay up to date on what’s happening in Santa Clarita by following the City on Facebook and Instagram @CityofSantaClarita. That is also where you will find hints to where our 30th-anniversary mascot Sammy Clarita is hiding. Wishing your family an amazing summer!
Best regards,
Ken Striplin
