Spacerock Trail RaceThe 2nd Annual Spacerock Trail Race, a spectacular half-marathon, 10K or 5K trail race through the iconic Vasquez Rocks Natural Park in Agua Dulce, is set for October 15, 2017.

Runners get to experience the park’s winding trails through the other-worldly rock formations seen around the world as the backdrop in countless commercials, TV series and feature films, including the original “Star Trek” series, “The Flinstones” movie, “Battlestar Galactica” and “Planet of the Apes.”

“The inaugural Spacerock Trail Race was literally an out-of-this-world event,” said 2016 runner Eric Sorenson. “[It was] a very scenic, challenging and fun race that will become an annual event for my friends and [me]… you definitely took trail racing to a whole new level.”

“Spacerock: the final trail running frontier. These are the voyages of trail runners around the world. Your mission: to explore strange new trails, to seek out new life and new experiences, to boldly run where no one has run before.”

Registration is open with distances for all types of runners to offer a variety of challenges that best meets their level of fitness. Runners experience a trail course that takes them through and around the massive rock formations and for longer distances into the canyons and the iconic black hole tunnel going under the 14 freeway.

Registration is available on SpacerockTrailRace.com or on the popular Active.com running network.

On Race Day, the start will be located at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park at 6 a.m. (sunrise). Parking will be off-site with buses shuttling participants to the race staging area. Check the website for complete event details.

Spacerock Trail Race organizers are now seeking media press, sponsorship and partner support. Businesses that want their brand or products represented with this spectacular event may send inquiries to run@spacerocktrailrace.com.

This special event is being staged by New Global Adventures, creators of the Valencia Trail Race (valenciatrailrace.com), an awesome trail race in the hills of Valencia and the Sugar Daddy Half-Marathon (sugardaddymarathon.com) on Father’s Day weekend in Santa Clarita.

The company believes it is important to give back to the world. While New Global Adventures’ focus is about giving runners an amazing race experience, the company also want to give back to the local community and when possible to those in need around the world.

By running in these races, participants will be supporting the local Wildlife Waystation, Global Adventure Kids, and ChowChow.org.
