A multi-vehicle collision in Canyon Country led deputies to arrest an underage DUI suspect who also crashed into a traffic signal around 5:30 a.m. Friday.

“We have a 20-year-old male who was reporting to be swerving and hitting items with his vehicle before crashing into that light pole,” said Lt. Leo Bauer of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies arrested Elias Figueroa, 20, on charges of misdemeanor DUI and hit and run, in addition to vehicle code violations.

The crash is still under investigation by the station’s traffic division.

  1. Hope Bubba finds him in juvenile hall.

  2. Jeff Sander Jeff Sander says:

20 years old is not a minor. He’s a legal adult who was underage drinking.

  3. Maybe he is actually a minor.. Like he works down a pit?

  4. Davey Riley Davey Riley says:

Why are they calling him a minor??

  5. WTH.. Drunk at 5:30 in the morning.. He needs to get his life together and start acting like an adult..

  6. Holly Aispuro Rebecca Edwards Short Nichole Nunez way too close to home!!

  7. DUI in the morning? And a 20 yr old is an adult not a minor! When are people going to learn!!

  8. Mark says:

Great, soon these morons can make North Los Angeles look like South Los Angeles. Drunk at 5:00 on a Friday morning…go get a job you complete loser

  9. They are calling him a minor as 20 is under the age of consent for drinking, which as we know, is 21. And someone who works in a pit, digging ore and gems, is a MINER with an “e”.

  10. 20 is not a minor… wrong headline

  11. I seen this happen i was at the light on whites canyon he was leaving the gas staion, speeding away hitting the center island . All I seen was him making a sharp right turn and as I drove bye that happen .he was fuckin wasted

  12. Aly Gaspar Aly Gaspar says:

He’s considered a minor when it comes to drinking age, c’mon people gotta be smarter than that

  13. Luz Elena Gomez ur friend buddy omg buddy 🙁

  14. So sad to see what SCV residents are making of the city I once thought was safe and peaceful, every other day you see horrible things like this… but again if the system would have harsh punishments for DUI drivers I’m sure the number would decrease significantly. #STOP BUILDING HOMES ITS TOO CROWDED

  15. A “minor” is under the age of 18….

  16. Most DUIs occur in the wee hours of the mourning.. not sure why anyone would be surprised by that! Bars typically close between 2-3am (new law is going to allow closing at 4am)… it can take many hours for alcohol
To metabolize through your system – so being drunk at 5:30am… NOT uncommon

  17. I went home like 340 Stephen Granados

  18. Yensy Garcia Yensy Garcia says:

Everyone is quick to judge. How about praying for everyone who was involved in this accident. It was a stupid choice yes, but pray! That’s what this world needs not more rude comments. Let the system deal with his consequences and keep your damn mouths shut! Prayers for Elias.
