Only 90 high school football players in the country are selected each year by the U.S. Army to participate in the annual All-American Bowl, and this year Hart High School is honored to have two student athletes selected to participate in this program and prestigious game scheduled for Jan. 3, 2015 at the San Antonio, Texas, Alamodome.
Seniors Trent Irwin and Brady White were honored Thursday at a ceremony at Hart High School in the quad at brunch, which included the band performing and representatives from the U.S. Army presenting the boys with jerseys and caps representing their invitation to this elite team roster.
According to Dr. Collyn Nielsen, Hart principal, Irwin and White are more than student athletes, they are scholar athletes. “Trent and Brady not only excel on the football field, they have taken care of business in the classroom as well, with each young man earning a grade point average well in excess of 4.0,” Dr. Nielsen said. “I would like to congratulate each of them on their tremendous accomplishments at Hart High School and on the special recognition that are receiving today.”
Hart quarterback White is an Arizona State commit while Irwin, wide receiver is still considering his post-secondary options.
Both White and Irwin will be playing for the “West” team, and the game will be broadcast live nationally on NBC at 1 pm (EST) on Jan. 3, 2015.
