This week’s SCVTV/AMG & Associates Student-Athlete of the Week is Ryan Gorman from Valencia High School. Ryan has a cumulative GPA of 3.65 and an SAT score of 1710. He wants to continue to play football, and knows getting it done in the classroom has to happen first.
“I want to get into a good college, a respected college academic wise,” Ryan said. “And so with football it makes it easier to get into that school, but I also need the good grades to go along with it. It also trains me for college to stay on top of my studies and work hard academically as well as athletically.”
And when it comes to motivation, Ryan has not had to look too far.
“My family has always motivated me,” he said. “My mom has always been really strict, and my dad. My sister too because she was a 4.2 student. So I’ve been always trying to match her and be better than her.”
While he wants to play football at the next level, his career choices range from medicine to business.
“I always wanted to do medicine because of my mom and I respect what she does,” Ryan said. “And I want to help people. But I also realize I could help people through business. I like being a people person and talking to people. So in both those fields I could do that, especially business. But in medicine you get a little bit more of the helping people factor.”
Congratulations to Ryan Gorman of Valencia High School, the SCVTV/AMG & Associates Student-Athlete of the Week.
