This week’s SCVTV/AMG & Associates Student-Athlete of the Week is Zach Moran from Valencia. Zach carries a cumulative GPA of 3.7. He was brought up to know there is a time to take care of responsibility and a time to have fun.
“Balancing having fun and getting good grades is important,” Zach said. “My parents have always brought me up making sure I am staying on top of my things and to make sure I don’t procrastinate. And so I have always been motivated to get good grades.”
And when asked if it’s hard to get good grades, Zach says no.
“Honestly, if you have the right mindset to do it, I believe it’s not,” he said. “If you do the homework, show up every day and then put in a little extra time to study for the tests and participate in class, you should be able to get at least B’s or A’s.”
The one thing Zach knows is his academic performance is giving him options, and that’s important because he is still working out where he wants to take his life.
“At one time I was thinking about being a firefighter,” Zach said. “What I’m on right now (is between) a land surveyor or a teacher. With land surveying I like to be out and about, and with teaching I’m really good at math and I like to be able to talk and be with a lot of people. So either one of those would work for me.”
Congratulations to Zach Moran of Valencia High School, the SCVTV/AMG & Associates Student-Athlete of the Week.
