The Santa Clarita Artists’ Association has a new place to call home.
On Monday the SCAA hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their new storefront on Town Center Drive, next to Pottery Barn. The 1,500 square foot space allows the organization to showcase local art and better connect with the community, said association President Zony Gordon.
“More than 38 artists are featured in our current exhibit and every (six weeks) we cycle that so we have fresh paintings all the time,” Gordon said.
The exhibit currently has 120 pieces of art including sculptures and paintings on display.
It will be home to several community events such as lectures and art demos presented by artists who work in different media.
Gorden says their new storefront is helping the SCAA achieve its goal of “Making Visual Art Visible” in Santa Clarita.
Founded in 1989, the SCAA is a nonprofit 501c3 organization of professional and amateur artists who share a love for visual art in all mediums.
The new gallery is located in the Westfield Valencia Town Center at 24251 Town Center Drive, next to Pottery Barn. Doors are open Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
