High school lacrosse players from Santa Clarita will participate in the Sandstorm Lacrosse Tournament this weekend in Palm Springs.
West Ranch High School Lacrosse Club players will participate as members of the LA Mavericks travel team in the regional event. LA Mavericks is based out of the Conejo Valley and isnheaded by former Syracuse All-American Sean Lindsay.
Matt Palma, Kyle Esbin and JK Torres, all of West Ranch, along with Patrick McGoldrick (St. Francis), will bolster the Mavericks HS squad in the final tourney of the winter lacrosse season. Sandstorm will feature several prominent club teams which should make this a challenging event.
Madeline McGoldrick (West Ranch) is playing for the Lady Mavericks U15 team in the girls division, and is quite possibly the first girl from Santa Clarita to play organized lacrosse. Sandstorm is a nationally recognized tournament that attracts teams from all over the country. The event is being held at Empire Polo Grounds in Indio.
