Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich honored the Golden Valley High School Boys Cross Country Team for their recent CIF Division 2 State Championship in Downtown Los Angeles Tuesday.
Teammates Kristian Martinez, Juan David Garcia, Nolan Del Valle, Carlos Lopez, Gabe Levy, Brendan Tinoco, and Aaron Nguyen were joined by their coaches Rob and Chris Evans.
Also in attendance were Sal Frias, Principal of Golden Valley High School, Carolyn Hoffman, Assistant Principal in charge of athletics, Robert Fisher, Athletic Director, and Robert Challinor, Superintendent of the William S. Hart Union High School District.
The Grizzlies are the Foothill League Champions and Division 2 course record holders at Mount San Antonio College.
They placed 11th at the Nike Cross Country Nationals in December. The team also averages a 4.03 GPA and is taking a total of 18 AP classes.
