The City of Santa Clarita is offering lower-income homeowners the chance to receive grant assistance for necessary minor home repairs through the Residential and Property Rehabilitation Grant Programs.
“The City’s Rehabilitation Program is designed to provide financial assistance to low-income homeowners for the rehabilitation and repair of properties,” commented Mayor Laurie Ender. “These grants are an important tool for neighborhood revitalization and maintaining community aesthetics.”
The Residential Rehabilitation Grant Program offers grants of up to $5,000 to qualifying homeowners for eligible repairs to single family homes, town-homes, condominiums, and mobile homes within the City limits. Interested homeowners should keep in mind that these grants are not applicable for home remodeling or upgrades.
Examples of qualifying grant work can include repair or replacement of water heaters, roofs, floors, windows, and heating or air conditioning units. Necessary plumbing issues, electrical work, painting, or modifications for disabled access can also be addressed through the grant program.
Property grants of up to $1,000 are also available to address property-related issues such as repairs to walls, fences, gates, and detached garages.
For more information or to apply for a Residential Rehabilitation Grant, please contact the City of Santa Clarita at (661) 286-4141.
