If you are faced with the same situation where you believe someone is breaking into your residence you can take steps to help ensure your safety by:
-Let the suspect(s) know you are awake by making noise or yelling that you are calling the police.
-Immediately find a secure place in your house and dial 9-1-1.
-If you see the suspect(s) please try to be a good witness. Details about the number of suspects, what they look like and their last direction of travel are helpful in locating and arresting these criminals.
-If you witness suspicious persons in the area, any time of day, please notify the Sheriff’s department by calling (661) 255-1121. As always, in the event of an emergency call 9-1-1.
