Santa Clarita’s Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh are preparing for the 200 in the USA Track and Field Olympic Trials.
Their finish in the 100 meters is still under debate. The two runners finished in a dead heat for third place in the 100. If they decide on a runoff to determine the third and final spot for Team USA in the 100, their coach wants to have the race on Tuesday.
But USA Track and Field officials want to have the race on Sunday, the final day of the Olympic Trials.
Their coach, Bobby Kersee, told the Associated Press his runners need more time to recover. The final in the 200 is Saturday.
Both Felix and Tarmoh are eligible for the 4×100 relay in the Olympics. Felix won silver medals in the Olympics in the 200 in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
