From near and not too far our country’s birthday will be celebrated with runs, classic cars, parades and a chili cookoff.

Closest to home the City of Santa Clarita will begin the July 4th celebration early with the 30th Annual Independence Day Classic. The 10K Run begins at 7:00 a.m. followed by the Kids K at 7:45 a.m. and the 5K Race and Walk at 8:00 am.

The City of Santa Clarita 4th of July parade with the theme “Santa Clarita Volunteers” begins at 9:00 am. The parade begins on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

Approximately twelve hours later at 9:15 p.m. the City of Santa Clarita fireworks display will begin in the skies above the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

 

Castaic Lake Recreation Area

For more all day fun families can venture out to the Castaic Lake Recreation Area. Visitors can park all day for $25 per carload or $5 per person walk-in fee. That includes staying for the fireworks show.

From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Friends of Castaic Lake have arranged to have jumpers and food opportunities, which the recreation area offers picnicking and swimming.

From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm there will be offering music and karaoke.

At 9:00 p.m. the fireworks begin.

 

Stevenson Ranch Fireworks Show

The Stevenson Ranch fireworks show will be held at Dr. Richard Rioux Memorial Park. Fireworks start at 9:00 p.m.

 

Acton

The town of Acton will begin their parade with the theme “50 Years of Celebration”at 9:00 a.m. from Crown Valley Road to Smith Avenue.

 

Fillmore

 

A short drive west along highway 126 will bring you to the quaint town of Fillmore. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fillmore will hold their Chili Cook-off and & Car Show.
The City of Fillmore in conjunction with TNT Fireworks & Phantom Fireworks sponsors a professional fireworks display. The display will be launched from Fillmore Middle School located 543 A Street in the City of Fillmore. The show is scheduled to begin at dusk (approximately 9:15pm) and last approximately 25 minutes.

 

Ventura

This popular 4th of July event attracts up to 50,000 people to Downtown Ventura annually.

  • Free to the Public
  • Street Fair Hours:  10 am – 5 pm
  • More than 250 fine artist, crafters, nonprofit organizations, and food booths.
  • Six stages of continuous live entertainment.
  • A children’s Pushem – Pullem Parade at 10a.m. sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ventura – East.  Parade begins at Cemetery Memorial Park (Main Street at Crimea Street.)
  • Free shuttle service from the Ventura County Government Center 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The last shuttle leaves the Street Fair at 5 p.m.
