[HMNMH] – Santa Clarita “star” residents will partner with professional dancers during the fourth annual Dancing with Our Stars fundraising event on September 22 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. Dancing pairs will compete for the top prize with proceeds benefitting the non-profit organizations they represent.
Representing the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation, Craig Helm, MD, will be dancing with Ingrid Blanco, a professional dancer and co-founder of D’Wilfri Dance Art Studio in Santa Clarita. Come watch them shine as they command the dance floor with their astonishing moves, all to raise money for the hospital’s patient care services.
“I’ve been a musician my whole life and have always enjoyed all kinds of music and dancing,” Dr. Helm said. “I feel very fortunate to have Ingrid Blanco as a partner; she is an amazing dancer.”
Dr. Helm, who in addition to operating Helm Vision Group, plays guitar, piano, keyboards, and drums. He has been cutting up the dance floor since the 1970s disco era. He likes all types of dancing, particularly Latin style dances, and is not shy about improvising when the mood strikes.
Those who have seen Dr. Helm dance are amazed at his moves and his ability to dance to any type of music. For the Dancing with Our Stars event, Dr. Helm and his partner will be moving to the rhythms of the samba, the iconic dance of Brazil.
“It’s all for a good cause because that’s what it’s really all about, raising money for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital,” he said.“It’s our little jewel here.”
