[LASD] – This week there was a slight increase in crime.
There was a residential burglary in the 27500 block of Seco Canyon Road on Friday, 07-27-12. Suspect(s) unknown entered through the side garage door and stole miscellaneous items. There was no sign of forced entry to the garage so it is unknown if it was locked.
There was a commercial burglary to a local business on Seco Cyn Road Sunday night into Monday. It is possible that the business was left unlocked.
A victim had her phone stolen from her purse while attending a local dining establishment. The victim stated she left her purse unattended while she went to the restroom. Please keep in mind that most women leave valuables in their purse, making them desirable targets to thieves. Please keep all valuables in your possession or leave them with a trusted person when going to the restroom, or other areas where your attention can be diverted.
There was a street sign stolen from the corner of Nutmeg Lane and Caraway Lane. The theft of the Nutmeg Lane street sign occurred sometime within the last month.
Anyone with information related to the above crimes are urged to call the Santa Clarita Station at 661-255-1121.
On a positive note, overall crime in the Saugus area has been on the decline over the past month. Proactive deputies have been working diligently to be an active presence in your neighborhoods and help deter crime.
