[Post 507] – On Sunday, Nov. 11, Newhall American Legion Post 507 will host its annual Veterans’ Day barbeque immediately following the Veterans’ Day ceremony at Newhall Veterans Historical Plaza. The SCV Young Marines will present colors at 12:30pm and will be followed by a short program with guest speakers. The Pin Up Doll Girls will also be making a special guest appearance. Lunch will be served until approximately 2:30. Post 507 is located at 24527 Spruce Street in Newhall (located behind the Newhall Library).
The American Legion is dedicated to upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States of America by promoting a 100% Americanism and a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation. Post 507 is dedicated to the principles of justice, freedom and democracy and is devoted to mutual helpfulness.
On this Veterans’ Day, be sure to take time to thank a Veteran for their service to our country. Santa Clarita is home to over 10,000 Veterans, the highest per capita in the state of California. It is because of our Veterans that our nation remains a beacon of liberty for nations around the globe.
The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation’s veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership.
