The Santa Clarita Valley Emergency Winter Shelter will open its doors for the season Dec. 1.
This is the 16th year the shelter will be providing hot meals, showers, a safe environment and job and medical resources to the local homeless population, said Tim Davis, executive director of the SCV Emergency Winter Shelter.
“We put together a lot of effort to help those individuals with their problems, we get them help so they can get back into a job and back into a house,” Davis said. “We also try and help resolve their issues whether language or job training and point them in the right directions to the proper services while they are here.”
The shelter is located on 23031 Drayton Street, Newhall 91321, off Railroad Avenue. It will open at 6 p.m. Dec. 1, and close on Mar. 31 at 8 a.m.
