The Master’s College womens volleyball team has been eliminated from the NAIA national volleyball championships.
The Mustangs lost to Oklahoma Baptist Friday 25-27, 27-25, 22-25, 22-25 in the round of 16 single-elimination portion of the tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
Despite losing their first two pool play matches, The Master’s made it to the single-elimination round by virtue of single-game, tie-breaking wins over Cal State-San Marcos and Indiana Wesleyan.
In the final match against the No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Baptist Bison, the Mustangs were led by senior Rachel Taylor’s 18 kills and Victoria Callahan’s 12. Rebecca Peluffo had a match-high 26 digs.
The Mustangs finish their most successful season ever at 27-8 and ranked No. 6 nationally in the final regular season poll of NAIA Division 1.
