The Valley Industry Association is thrilled to announce that Fred Kreger and Chris Jacobsen were recently appointed to the organization’s 19-member governing board.
“With backgrounds in finance and legal dealings, respectively, they bring great insights to the table,” VIA President and CEO Kathy Norris said. “I believe they will add excellent dynamics to the board.”
Kreger, a certified mortgage consultant, has been with American Family Funding for nearly a decade. As the branch manager for the credit union division, he oversees origination, processing, member care, credit union portfolio reviews and financial portfolio reviews. He has 20-plus years of operations and customer service experience, and trains loan officers and credit unions in customer service and sales skills. He is president of the California Association of Mortgage Professionals.
“Fred is a dedicated advocate for the mortgage industry,” Norris said. “In addition to regularly writing articles on industry issues, he has spoken on the state of mortgage lending, as well as testifying before the California State Legislature and the U.S. Congressional House Financial Services Committee.”
Jacobsen is a partner in the corporate transactions and business law department at Poole & Shaffery, LLP, where he has worked with clients in businesses and industries including aviation, specialty manufacturing, real estate, software development, printing and nonprofit organizations. His experience includes everything from entity formation, shareholder agreements and real property purchase and development, to joint venture agreements, sale and merger transactions and estate planning. He is a member of the Los Angeles County and Santa Clarita Valley bar associations.
“Chris is a perfect fit for the VIA board,” Norris said. “With a rich background in the legal world and a wealth of experience, he has insight that can be of great assistance to the SCV business community.”
As the top level of management for VIA, the board provides leadership for the organization, overseeing VIA’s various committees and meeting several times a year for strategic planning.
The Valley Industry Association of Santa Clarita represents business interests throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, providing members the opportunity to network and collaborate on a broad range of business issues. More information about VIA is available at www.via.org.
