Zone 5-Valencia reported eighteen Part-1 Crimes during the past week. The criminal incidents included a grand theft auto, grand theft of a purse, residential burglaries, and shoplifting from local businesses.
A grand theft of a vehicle occurred at a car dealership on April 28th in the early morning hours. The vehicle stolen was 2013 Dodge Charger, which had the keys left inside. A few hours later, the vehicle was recovered and four individuals were taken into custody for the crime of grand theft auto.
A grand theft of a purse occurred at a supermarket on April 26th at 2:00 p.m. The victim left her purse unsecured in a shopping cart and it was stolen. The purse contained her wallet, credit cards and $50 cash. Women need to be cautious while shopping and be aware of their surroundings. Never leave your purses or bags unsecured in the shopping carts.
A residential burglary occurred in the 23300 block of Landmark Way on April 22nd in the early morning hours. Entry/exit was made via an open garage door. The item stolen was a boys Specialized Hot Rock bicycle. A second burglary occurred in the 24600 block of Golf view Drive on April 24th. Entry/exit was made via an open garage. Items stolen were left unsecure in the victim’s vehicle which was left unlocked in the garage.
Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas. If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighborhood, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.
There were 25 arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included grand theft auto, possession of narcotics, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, drunk in public, warrants and shoplifting from local businesses.
