Drunk tank at SCV Station | LASD
A Newhall woman was arrested on a drunk-driving charge Friday morning when she crashed into another vehicle and reportedly failed a field sobriety test.
Shaunna Feeney, 34, of Newhall, was driving eastbound on Newhall Avenue when she collided with a driver who was exiting a Chevron station near Sierra Highway, officials said.
Fire Department officials phoned the incident into Sheriff’s Station officials at 7:07 a.m., said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We had a report that vehicles were blocking traffic as I drove to the scene,” Dubin said. “The driver appeared intoxicated, and a preliminary alcohol-screening device revealed that she was over the legal limit.”
Feeney was book at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Friday morning and being held in lieu of $30,000 bail. She is due in court May 6.
“We encourage people to call 911 if they suspect someone might be drunk driving no matter what time of day it is,” Dubin said. “Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are working around the clock with the community we serve to keep our roads safe.”
