Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Again, crime in the Saugus area was down as compared to this time last year. There were only two reported part one crimes in Saugus last week; however, both of the crimes occurred prior to last week. Due to proactive Deputies and alert citizens, crime is continuing to stay at an all-time low.
There was a commercial burglary in the 25600 block of Springbrook Avenue between Friday, 05/10/13, and Monday, 05/13/13. The victim discovered his vehicle was stolen from a storage container at the location. The victim provided Deputies with possible suspect information regarding the theft. Detectives are investigating the case.
There was a residential burglary which occurred in the 22400 block of Shadow lane. The crime was reported this week however, it occurred at the end of April. The victim stated that someone entered her residence and stole a large amount of jewelry and money. Due to the delay in reporting the crime, deputies were unable to locate a point of entry into the house.
There were multiple arrests made in the Saugus area over the past week. The arrests include narcotics, burglary, domestic violence, theft and DUI.
