Snapshot for 07/15/13 through 07/21/13
During the above dates, Newhall (Zone 6) had six reported part one crimes. Newhall had one theft from an unlocked vehicle, one stolen vehicle, one assault, two commercial burglaries, and one rape reported.
A rape was reported from the dirt lot area around Costa Brava and Valle Del Oro. The investigation is being handed by the LASD Special Victim’s Bureau. This incident allegedly occurred on Friday, 07/19/13 between 7pm and 8pm (ref -09884).
A burglary was reported from Peachland Elementary School located at 24800 Peachland Avenue in Newhall. This incident allegedly occurred between 07/16/13, 3pm and 07/17/13, 6am. Nothing appeared to be stolen from the location, however glass was smashed and graffiti was drawn at the location. The investigation is on-going (ref -09726).
An assault was reported from the area of Valley Street and OakRun Lane in Newhall. This incident allegedly occurred on Wednesday, 07/17/13 at approximately 8:30pm. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. When the vehicle stopped, a male passenger exited the vehicle and fled the location on foot. Deputies received reports from a victim that the passenger who fled was armed with a handgun and had assaulted him. A large scale search of the area was conducted. A deputy then witnessed the suspect drop a mesh bag that contained a substance resembling methamphetamine , as the suspect was fleeing the location. Although the suspect was not located at that time, the investigation is on-going (ref -09768).
A red 2001 Honda XR50 dirt bike was reported stolen from the 25100 block of Fourl Road in Newhall. The motorcycle was reported stolen from inside the victim’s garage (ref -09708).
A theft from unlocked vehicle was reported from the area of 6th Street and Pine Street in Newhall. Stereo equipment, fishing poles, and the vehicles registration and proof of insurance was reported stolen (ref -09627).
