lasd_scvstation_pressrelease_badgeSanta Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives are investigating a Canyon Country robbery late Wednesday night, a Sheriff’s Station official said.

Two men jumped a pizza-delivery man on the 17900 block of Danielson Street, near Jakes Way, according to a Sheriff’s Station report.

“The victim was trying to deliver pizzas to an address on that block when two assailants attacked him and stole the man’s cash and pizzas,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. The location of a robbery that took place Wednesday, courtesy of Google Maps

As the delivery man stepped out of his vehicle, the man was confronted and then punched, and when he tried to get up, he was attacked from behind, according to a Sheriff’s Station report.

The attackers are not believed to be armed, but the victim did not have clear description.

The attack happened shortly before midnight.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, returned to the pizza place at the 18600 block of Soledad Canyon Road without serious injury and then contacted the Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies contacted the residents of the delivery address, and there was no one there matching the suspects’ description, the report said.

The incident is an ongoing investigation, and no other information is available at this time, Dubin said.

“Deputies work in concert with the public we serve,” Dubin said. “And we welcome information from the public, and we encourage anyone who witnesses a crime taking place to call the Sheriff’s Station.

The phone number for the Sheriff’s Station is 661-255-1121.

Anonymous crime tips can be reported through the Los Angeles Regional CrimeStoppers program by calling 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637) or online at lacrimestoppers.org.

Crimes in progress or those requiring immediate attention should be reported directly to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station at (661) 255-1121 or by dialing 9-1-1.
