TMC Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Boby Blanken
KANSAS CITY, MO. – Even before its first official match, The Master’s College volleyball team has made history.
For the first time ever, the Lady Mustangs enter their season ranked among the top 10 teams in the 2013 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll.
“While we are flattered and humbled by this news, we’re not taking too much from it,” said fourth-year head coach Bobby Blanken, “Our goal is to play the best we can all year.”
Attesting to the strength of the Golden State Athletic Conference, the Mustangs are joined by three conference opponents on the poll: No. 1 Concordia, No. 4 Biola, and No. 16 Westmont.
Nineteen of 23 conferences are represented throughout the Top 25, led by the GSAC with the four aforementioned ranked teams.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The first regular-season Top 25 will be announced September 1.
This week, the Lady Mustangs will take to the court at the Biola/Red Lion Hotel Anaheim Summer Slam. The tournament will pit the Lady Mustangs against Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m., followed by a match against Davenport (Mich.) at 3 p.m. The next day, TMC will square off against sixth-ranked College of Idaho at 11 a.m., and close things out in a match against future GSAC member, William Jessup, at 3 p.m.
