SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Five days after beating Southern Oregon University 2-1 in overtime, The Master’s College women’s soccer team learned that they were ranked No. 16 on the most recent NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.
The new ranking represents a five spot jump from last week’s poll, and is the highest TMC has been since the 2010 campaign when they were ranked No. 6 in the country.
Next to GSAC rival Vanguard (5-0), who ranks No. 2 on the poll, the Lady Mustangs (7-0) are the only team in the NAIA who currently has an unblemished record.
Also joining TMC in the rankings are fellow conference members, No. 6 Westmont (5-0-1) and No. 25 Concordia (2-0-2).
Looking forward, TMC’s next opponent, CSU San Marcos (3-0-1), retained their No. 15 ranking, which sets up nicely for Saturday’s 1:30 p.m. showdown at Reese Field.
On the most recent Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, The Master’s College volleyball team retained their 22nd national ranking.
The Lady Mustangs are joined by four fellow GSAC teams on the Top 25 Poll: No. 1 Concordia, No. 3 Biola, No. 9 Westmont, and No. 19 Vanguard.
Looking ahead, TMC will travel to Biola on Saturday in the NAIA’s lone Top 25 matchup of the weekend.
Mustang fans can vote for the TMC/Biola match as the NAIA Volleyball Game of the Week on Facebook by clicking here. Voting will close Wednesday, September 18, at 3 p.m. (PST).
