October:  31 Days of Hope
A Letter from the Executive Director

Executive Director

October is a very special and busy time of year for Circle of Hope. Not that one month defines us and our work, but October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, making it a special time to focus on our mission. As a nonprofit, we receive our donations through very generous corporate and private donors, allowing us to help members of our community diagnosed with breast cancer. While many in our community have heard of Circle of Hope, most don’t understand the scope and impact of what we do and how we touch individuals with this ugly disease. While I will not go into great detail of our services, I will outline for you the many things we provide, and ask you to refer to our website for additional information: www.circleofhopeinc.org

Providing financial assistance for the following:

  • Radiation Treatments
  • Chemotherapy Treatments
  • Medications
  • Second Opinions
  • Lumpectomy
  • Mastectomy/Double Mastectomy
  • Cobra financial assistance program (Payment of premiums) during treatment

Circle of Hope is very active negotiating client bills, we work with the many hospitals, and doctors to offer solutions to our clients expenses associated with the treatment of cancer, which can be very costly.

Support Group:

Breast Friends support group is open to all people affected by all cancers.  Meets the last Tuesday of each month (except July, August, and September) at the Circle of Hope office. Attendance is free.

Breast Cancer Care Bags:

Provided to anyone that may be diagnosed with breast cancer. If you know someone that has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer please notify us and request a care bag.

Education:

Circle of Hope started Team P.I.N.K. (promote, inform, network & knowledge) in 2011, providing education and support to young people with a loved one going through breast cancer. There are several parts to our Team P.I.N.K. program:

  • Team Pink Clubs at your local High Schools
  • Outreach programs for community service hours
  • Play To Prevent program designated to sports teams and clubs to promote breast cancer awareness

I hope you have taken some time to read the above services Circle of Hope provides. This only scratches the surface of how the Circle of Hope assists our community.

We are excited to launch the 31 Days of Hope in our “Paint the Town Pink” campaign. Stay tuned for additional “News of Hope” emails, keeping you up-to-date on this month’s activities.  Each one is a great way to help Circle of Hope and support our local business and local services organizations.  You may also check out our October Calendar for the latest information.

Thank you for all your support!

Ray Tippet

Executive Director
