SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the 2013 Volleyball National Championship qualifiers for the 34th annual event. The 36-team NAIA National Championship will get underway with 12 National Championship Opening Round tournaments at campus locations on Saturday.
The 16th-ranked Lady Mustangs, who finished fourth the GSAC with a record of 19-8 (8-6 GSAC), were selected as the seventh squad to receive an at-large bid. The eight at-large berths were determined by the final NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released on Sunday.
The Master’s College will host Cal State San Marcos, the Champion of the Association of Independent Institutions, in a 7pm match on Bross Court.
Whichever squad emerges victorious from Saturday’s match, will advance to the NAIA National Championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa. The Tyson Events Center will welcome 24 teams from Dec. 3 – 7.
Admission Prices for the NAIA Opening Round will be $8 General Admission, $5 Students, and the match will be streamed live on the internet on a pay-per-view basis for $7.95. Only NAIA passes will be honored as a substitute for paid admission.
