I think it’s great that women are allowing their unwanted babies to be saved…However, I think it is a bit invasive to announce specific dates/locations of surrenders. Let some time pass…Surely there is shame associated with surrendering a newborn baby for these moms. They don’t needs coworkers, neighbors or relatives meddling.
It is a county program and a county press release. The county asks us (and everyone else) to publish it. If you don’t think that’s a good idea, you can call Supervisor Don Knabe’s office at (213) 974-4444 and say so….
My heart goes out to the brave & courageous momma who made what I can only imagine was a heartwrenching decision. I feel for her, and hope she finds peace in knowing that she did what was best for the baby.
If making an announcement anonomously saves more lives…its a good program…
Keep abortion legal.
I read more on the program….and I found out that the mother and child are given matching anklets that share a code….the mother has 14 days to reconsider…..I think that is a well thought out part….post partum can be a major factor. ..
I guess my point is, it’s not very anonymous when they make such specific details known..
