Canyon Country East, Zone 8

Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:

(3) Residential Burglaries (1) Shop lifting (1) GTA (1) Robbery

A strong arm Robbery occurred near the 17000 Sweet Gum Lane.  During this incident a “Dominos Pizza” delivery man was assaulted as he attempted to deliver a pizza to the location.  When he got out of his vehicle he was immediately assaulted by a male black suspect.  The suspect punched the victim in the face causing the victim to fall to the ground.  The suspect took the victim’s wallet containing $15.00 and fled the area.  This case is currently being investigated by detectives at Santa Clarita station.

A 1987 Ford truck was stolen at the intersection of Jakes Way/Sara Drive.  The truck has not been recovered.

While dropping off a mattress on Annes Circle, the victim left her car unattended while taking the mattress into her apartment.  When she went back to her vehicle she reported that 3 cell phones that were in her car had been taken.  The victim left her vehicle un-locked and the phones in plain view.

A garage burglary occurred near the 18000 block of Grace Lane.  In this incident the suspect(s) entered the victim’s garage by unknown means and stole a “Dawes” road bicycle.  There was no damage to the garage and the victim was unsure how the suspect entered the garage.

Here are some tips to help reduce the chances of you being victim of a vehicle burglary: Lock your car doors, remove any items that would attract thieves such as Ipads, Iphones, lap top computers and sun glasses.  It is also a good idea to remove garage door remotes from your vehicle if possible.  Park in a well lit area and  LOCK YOUR DOORS!
