The City of Santa Clarita invites local families to attend a Kids Biking and Walking Festival at Fair Oaks Ranch Community School on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The family friendly event celebrates recent improvements made possible by the City of Santa Clarita’s Safe Routes to School program.
The festival will feature fun activities and demonstrations designed to teach kids how to be safer bicyclists and pedestrians.
The event will include safety demonstrations, helmet fittings, bike safety checks, bike skills courses and activity stations where kids can create bike license plates, spoke cards and other bike-friendly crafts.
The festival will culminate with an on-street group bike ride through the surrounding neighborhood and a group walk around the perimeter of the school to show kids and parents the importance of walking and biking safely. A limited number of bikes and helmets will be available for participants to use, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own to the event.
