The Forged By Fire Foundation is pleased to announce that it was recently granted charitable status by the Internal Revenue Service under section 501c3.
The Forged By Fire Foundation was created and applied for charitable status in 2013. Its primary function is to come alongside survivors of traumatic injury and debilitating disease to ensure the best possible recovery and a more active lifestyle. FBFF partners with other charities and uses a network of inspiring challenged athletes and motivational speakers to visit the injured, speak publically about the issues faced by traumatic injury survivors and to weigh in on emerging therapies to treat the effects of traumatic injury including brain injury.
The Forged By Fire Foundation is the culmination of Kevin Korenthal’s experiences surviving and fully recovering from 2 major traumatic injuries and the amputation of his left leg below the knee. After his second injury, a December 2012 car vs. bike accident on Sand Canyon at Bear Divide in the unincorporated region of Santa Clarita, Kevin delighted many who knew him with the swiftness and completeness of his recovery from numerous breaks in his legs, arms, back and neck. People began asking Kevin the question, “How did you do that”? That question prompted Kevin to seek out others who had experienced traumatic injury about creating an organization that would be devoted to ensuring the best recovery for sufferers of traumatic injury and debilitating disease.
The Forged By Fire Foundation is preparing to organize a number of events through 2015 which highlight successful recoveries and challenge traumatic injury survivors to reach deep and be active participants in their recovery.
Tax deductible contributions to The Forged By Fire Foundation can be made by check and sent to 28029 Wildwind Rd., Santa Clarita, CA 91351 or online at www.forgedbyfirefoundation.org.
