[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies Monday investigated a second report of indecent exposure in Newhall.

It was the second report near Newhall Elementary, which is also near a Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club clubhouse, Placerita Junior High School and Hart High School. A similar incident.

A female victim of unknown age was walking near 12th and Walnut streets, where a red pickup truck pulled next to her and asked her a question in Spanish.

She did not speak Spanish, however, she noticed the man was exposing himself, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

The man was reportedly Hispanic, approximately 30-35 years old, with light skin and black hair.

Deputies do not believe the incidents were related or that it’s the same suspect in both cases.

No suspect has been arrested in either case, officials said.

In the first case, at approximately 12:15 p.m. last Tuesday, two parents reported a man exposing himself from a red car on 13th Street in Newhall, according to information reported to officials.

“The safety of our children is the highest priority at Newhall Elementary School,” according to a statement from Newhall School District officials sent to parents after that incident. “We feel it is important to make you aware of a situation brought to our attention today.”

Both Hart High and Placerita Junior High relayed the information that was sent out by Newhall Elementary to the families of students, according to a Hart district official. The information was sent out last Tuesday afternoon.

A notice reportedly went out to parents in both districts.

“We have a great communication system with all the districts when something like this happens, so we can keep all the children safe,” said Gail Pinsker, Hart district spokeswoman, in a previous story about a similar incident last week.

She also offered a reminder to parents: “We recommend (students) walk in pairs or in groups and that they stay alert when walking to and from schools.”
