The City of Santa Clarita’s Community Services and Arts Grants Program will once again make funds available to Santa Clarita Valley-based nonprofit organizations in 2014 and 2015. Grant applications will be released at the Grant Bidders Meeting, which will be held on Monday, Sept. 22, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Activities Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.
The Community Services and Arts Grants offer local non-profit organizations the opportunity to support innovative and crucial programs and projects that serve residents. The Bidders Meeting will provide information about the available grants, as well as applications, tips and guidelines for applying for grant funding. No RSVP is required to attend.
Attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory in order to apply for funding. Grant applications and information will be available online for download on Tuesday, September 23 at http://www.santa-clarita.com/grants.
“For more than 20 years, the City of Santa Clarita’s Community Services and Arts Grant Program has provided annual funding to help support vital Santa Clarita-based organizations,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “The Grant Bidders Meeting is an opportunity for local organizations to familiarize themselves with the grant process, guidelines and how to correctly submit an application for the chance to receive funding.”
This year, the Santa Clarita City Council has made $150,000 in funding available for the Community Services and Arts Grants program to help support one-time projects, program enhancements and pilot programs. Past grant funding has been awarded to assist with equipment upgrades, after school enrichment programs, facility renovation projects, community art projects and performances at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.
The Grant Bidders Meeting will be held in the Santa Clarita Room, located on the first floor of the Santa Clarita Activities Center.
