[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Saugus man after a 10-minute pursuit early Sunday morning.
Paul Martinez, 40, was arrested on felony drunken driving and evading arrest charges after leading deputies on a chase through Bouquet Canyon Road, Seco Canyon Road, Copper Hill Drive and Caraway Lane, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
“At around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies tried to stop person driving recklessly who appeared to be driving drunk,” Bryski said. “Deputies used a stop stick to flatten the tires. He ran over it and the driver’s side rear tires wore out and fell off the car. [Martinez] spun out and we arrested him.”
Martinez was driving a black Ford Mustang during the pursuit, Bryski said.
Martinez is being held on $35,000 bail and expected to appear in court Sept. 30.
